Constança's story

"My work with the body was born from an existential crisis - after ten years working in social innovation and systems change initiatives, I came to an exhaustion point. Something was missing, and I found in somatic practices an important key for my own health and my contribution to the world: a reconnection with the body is needed if we want a regenerative human culture to emerge!

I have always danced and meditated in my intimate spaces, so when I discovered that these two things could come together and that people did it in community, it was at the same time like coming home and discovering a new life! The maps created by incredible pioneers such as Gabrielle Roth (5Rhythms), Joanna Macy (The Work that Reconnects), Anna Halprin (Life/Art Process) and Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing) took me far and deep and opened many inner doors, as did my studies in Movement-based Expressive Arts Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, and the learnings from relating with amazing human beings in dance communities around somatic movement, contact improvisation, conscious dance and forró.

Gradually, from the eclectic blend of my life experiences and learnings, ‘life-dance’ emerged as my offer."

Constança's Offers

Life-dance: Movement classes and workshops

An embodiment practice that supports our life processes through the unlocking of the physical, emotional and mental bodies by bringing movement to what is stuck and integrating it into a new dance. It develops deep awareness and trust in life's intelligence, which takes you where you need to go.

Somatic Experiencing (SE™): Individual therapy

A therapeutic approach that renegotiates with trauma and other stress disorders in our nervous system, following the wisdom of the body. It is based on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics and has been clinically applied for more than four decades.

“Through the clear structure you wove into the whole dance, I could fully surrender to what needed to happen. I felt held without being restricted in any way. It is a deeply transformative experience.”

- Diana Duthweller -

“I wanted to thank you deeply for the way you organized your course: I had many insights and a lot, a lot of food for thought. You help me to discover my body and, above all, to give it a voice, to allow it to share with itself and with other bodies, but also to surprise me with its (my) expression and with the voices of all the other bodies I've danced with!”

- Susana Mendo-

“My body has been leading, and I've been allowing her. Revolutionary! This inner listening has meant a wonderful grounded trip, your help gave me wings to explore without fear, knowing I wouldn't fall. A gift from a mother's soul. So generous. Im in tears of joy thinking of your compassion, patience and kindness.”
